14th Annual Seattle Polar Bear Plunge

Seattle's Polar Bear Plunge
Seattle’s Polar Bear Plunge

Do you love a challenge? Then, wash off the old year and start fresh by joining 1,000 or more Seattlites as they take the Polar Bear Plunge at noon on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Matthews Beach Park.  Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the plunge starts at noon sharp.
Costumes and festive energy is encouraged. Warm refreshments will be offered after the plunge. No matter how tough a bear you may be, organizers request participants stay in the water no longer than 15-minutes. Please do not take the plunge if you have any heart issues and no alcohol fore or aft. Alcohol exacerbates hypothermia!
All you have to do is run into your neck to get a Commemorative Badge of Courage.
The Polar Bear Plunge is free but donations will benefit the Learn to Swim Foundation to help low income kids.
