A new liver and three funerals

Frieda Dixon knows what it’s like to have your faith tested. Like most of us, she’s been thrown curve balls in life. At times, she didn’t know where to turn. In her new book, Born Three Times, Frieda exposes a family secret and the toll that tough economic times have taken.
After getting married, Frieda found herself caught between caring for her aging parents and raising two sons in poor health. In her late 30’s, she was diagnosed with an incurable liver disease. Soon after, she lost first her father, then her husband and finally her mother.
“Even though some people know that I experienced difficult times, most look at me now and think that I have a wonderful life,” says Dixon. “But few people understand my struggle or the many miracles and answers to prayers that God provided during those years.”
Born Three Times describes how Frieda reclaimed her relationship with God and found love again. Then, the gift of a donor liver gave her a second chance to reclaim the years lost to disease, death and despair.
“I prayed I would live so I could tell my story about the unseen, divine hand that pushed and pulled me through life—testing, yet encouraging me to keep on keeping on,” Dixon says.
Whether you are struggling with health problems of your own or just seeking to overcome obstacles, Frieda’s memoir offers inspiration and encouragement. The clock is always ticking, but Frieda discovers that the power of faith and hard work can work.
