AmeriCorps seeks applicants for Habitat for Humanity

Springfield/Eugene Habitat for Humanity has been awarded two AmeriCorps member positions and is looking for motivated and qualified candidates to serve locally during the 2014-15 service year, which begins this August.

AmeriCorps, often referred to as the domestic Peace Corps, is a network of National Service programs that engage more than 80,000 Americans each year in intensive service throughout the United States. National Service programs, such as AmeriCorps, are funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Throughout the year, AmeriCorps members serving with Springfield/Eugene Habitat for Humanity (S/E HFH) will serve with and help lead volunteers in building basic, affordable homes with Habitat Partner Families through Habitat’s homeownership program; and in providing minor external home repairs through A Brush With Kindness program for low-income senior citizens, veterans, and those with disabilities who own their own homes.
