Arts in Nature Festival Promises Great Entertainment

Looking for something artsy in the parksy this summer?arts in nature
Then, head to The Arts in Nature Festival August 22-23, 2015. Different from all other Seattle events, it’s an eclectic experience of art and performance in the woods of Seattle’s only camp ground, Camp Long.
You’ll find four intimate performance stages, a Museum of Sound in 8 rustic cabins, hands-on art and nature activities, and winding hiking trails through the great outdoors. Experience works ranging from jazz, classical, indie rock, bluegrass, contemporary dance, marching bands, and interactive sound installations.
About the Venue
Camp Long is one of Seattle’s best kept secrets. Located in West Seattle, this 68 acre park offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy nature, hike in the forest, camp overnight in rustic cabins, rock climb, and learn about natural history.
Over 40 Performances
From indie rock to world music, classical, jazz, bluegrass and folk. Dance, theatre, and literary performances, too. Performances are designed to be intimate and acoustic, so every seat is the front row. Discover your new favorite artist in four different venues throughout the park: in the Lodge, in a forested grove by the Pond, on the climbing Glacier, and in the Meadow.
Interactive Museum of Sound
In the Museum of Sound, artists will take over Camp Long’s rustic cabins to create installations that blend sound, music, and visual arts. Explore the trails in the forest to find each of the 8 cabins and step inside for the full experience. Most of the cabins will have a hands-on component allowing you to interact with the artists’ work.
Family-Friendly Activities
Create your own works of art by participating in art activities, writing workshops and open mics, juggling, costumed hikes through the forest, and naturalist activities.
One unique thing that Arts in Nature Festival attendees will notice is that, aside from delicious local food and drinks, there will be no large booths of vendors selling their wares. The Arts in Nature Festival experience is one centered on interaction rather than transaction.
Food & Drink
