Clark County Family YMCA breaks ground on expansion

Vancouver, WA –The Clark County Family broke ground Saturday, June 22 on a year-long, $8 million upgrade of its Orchards facility with both new and remodel construction.
Construction is phased so that the facility remains open, resulting in a 60,000-square-foot community center complex with an expanded list of programs. The Y will add a six-lane, cool-water pool, upgrade the concrete basketball courts with wood floors and enclose the outdoor patio area to become a multi-purpose space and youth play area in which programs and events may be held.
Other improvements include new weight and aerobic machines, new and updated locker rooms, expanded community rooms, childcare areas, a new teen meeting center and an improved entry area to enhance the facility and better serve the community.
We are open to all and ready to help as many people as possible participate in the programs of the Clark County Family YMCA. We provide $500,000 a year in financial assistance to those for whom poverty is a barrier to access. Every person, for the next decade, who resides in the 300 Vancouver Housing Authority’s low-income apartments next door, receives free membership and access to the Clark County Family YMCA.
