Doll Asylum Opens its Doors for Halloween

Portlandiers, are you looking for something really creepy to do around Halloween? Then, consider visiting the Doll Asylum. This is the place for the old, the decrepit, the forgotten…the insane.
Founded in 1867 by German Dr. Hermann Reinhardt, the Doll Asylum’s purpose was to receive dolls who were abandoned, neglected, or most importantly, showing signs of psychotic or murderous behavior.
Doll Maker by hobby, Dr. Reinhardt thought he could bridge the gap between the inanimate and animate and stomp out the dark thoughts that lay beneath. While no true success was to be had in his day, Dr. Reinhardt did establish a home for those unwanted creatures and in doing so, has protected society at large.
Following the maybe not-so-good doctor’s example, the doll asylum is only open to the public a few days a year. Your safety or mind or spirit cannot be guaranteed.
Doll Asylum will be open Oct. 23rd, 24th and 25th and again October 30th and 31st from 5-9pm. There is no admission but if you would like to admit a doll to the asylum, we would be happy to help. The Doll Asylum 6315 N. Michigan, Portland OR Just off of I-5
Adults and children accompanied by adults are welcome for a tour of the Asylum.
