Historic downtown theater to host VSO Chamber Music Series


(Vancouver, WA)  The 2013-2014 VSO’s Chamber Music Series arrives at one of the area’s most storied theaters when it begins its alliance with The Vancouver Symphony in its 35th season, announced today by VSO Executive Director Igor Shakhman.   The VSO Chamber Music Series is once again under the direction of VSO pianist Dr. Michael C. Liu, with the collaboration of renowned pianist, Cary Lewis.

Starting on October 13, 2013, The Kiggins Theater, located at 1101 Main Street in downtown Vancouver, will house the third season of The VSO’s Chamber Music Series. The collaboration with Kiggins is part of the city’s effort to revitalize downtown Vancouver.

Adult pricing for the Chamber Music Series is:

6 concerts                     $120
5 concerts                     $100
4 concerts                     $  80
3 concerts                     $  60

Individual tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students

The theater’ is operated by Dan Wyatt, also the owner of downtown soda shop Pop Culture, an Uptown Village venue that also features live music nights and movie nights, and showcases local artwork. Wyatt became the Kiggins’ new owner in 2012.

“We are so excited about performing at the Kiggins.  It’s one of the truly unique theaters in the Northwest,” said Dr. Shakhman. “We’re especially excited to announce about the involvement of Cary Lewis, who is recognized as a great artist, instructor and chamber music organizer.”
