‘Little Joe’

With the percentage of two-parent families having decreased dramatically over the last decade with steady decreases occurring over the last half century, it’s no wonder that the role of the grandparent is taking on more meaning and responsibility than ever before. So why do we often overlook or undervalue the role of the grandparent?
Michael E. Glasscock III, now 80 years old, was raised by his grandparents in the deep South and believes strongly in the influence that grandparents can have on their grandchildren. In his new book, Little Joe, Glasscock explores the relationship between a young man and his grandparents when he is sent to live with them after both of his parents are killed in an accident.
