Marathon celebrates women

Marathon
Pink Buffalo Racing produces a portfolio of eight events annually, including inaugural Oregon Women’s Half Marathon & 5K set for Sunday, Oct. 8.
With a very flat and fast course, participants can prepare for an outstanding opportunity to get a new personal record at the event. In addition to Love Liberates Half Marathon and 5K in June of 2017, centered on promoting inclusion and equality, Oregon Women’s Half Marathon and 5K was created to celebrate and empower women.
Noble Estate Winery’s Urban Tasting Room will host the start and finish line, and neighbors in the Westside Warehouse District J. Scott Cellars and Viking Braggot are partners in the event. Each participant 21 and over will receive a ticket valid for a refreshing mimosa or beer after finishing the race.
“Noble Estate is thrilled to be the start and finish for Pink Buffalo Racing’s inaugural Women’s Half Marathon.  We’ll be ready to celebrate thirsty racers with Muscat mimosas and nearly a dozen award winning wines at the finish line,” Amy Shadell, manager of Noble Estate says. Pink Buffalo Racing has partnered with Noble Estate Winery at their vineyard for the start line of Grapes of Half Marathon since 2013.
Registration fees are currently $50 for the half marathon, and $25 for the 5K. Prices will increase on August 15th to $60 for the half marathon through October 7th. Race day registration is available for $70 for the half marathon, and $30 for the 5K. Long sleeve event shirts are available for preorder until August 15th for $22. Youth 17 and under and adults 60 and over receive $5 off.
