Maryhill Winery showcases regional foods

Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro is expanding into the restaurant business, with a new name, new brand and upcoming location in the Seattle market. Previously known as Maryhill Winery, the award-winning business based in the scenic Columbia River Gorge is now showcasing regionally inspired food along with its approachable, high-quality wines at its locations in Goldendale, Spokane, Vancouver and, coming soon, Woodinville, Wash.

“We’re passionate about expanding our consumers’ palates and introducing them to completely different experiences. Our new culinary program, along with our new name and brand, reflect that adventurous spirit as much as our Pacific Northwest roots,” says Craig Leuthold, co-owner of Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro. “By adding bistros to all our tasting rooms, we are building on our commitment to make high-quality, approachable wines accessible to more people. Our menus, which are centered on locally sourced ingredients, were crafted to complement our award-winning wines, so people can truly understand our wines the way they were meant to be experienced.”

By mid-November 2019, Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro will have four signature restaurants, doubling its operations in the Evergreen State over the last two years. Leuthold and his wife, Vicki, recruited Ron Vansaghi to lead its culinary program.

Each Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro’s menu is unique, but all feature charcuterie boards, as well as seafood offerings such as Dungeness crab rolls, salads and small, Mediterranean-inspired plates.

Originally from New Jersey, Vansaghi brings a hospitality background of over 35 years to the Maryhill suite of tasting rooms and restaurants. Previously, he worked as the general manager for Chart House for 15 years, opened and operated pubs in the Portland and Seattle areas, and worked as the food and beverage director for the Heathman Lodge for 17 years.

Each Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro’s menu is unique, but all feature charcuterie boards, as well as seafood offerings such as Dungeness crab rolls, salads and small, Mediterranean-inspired plates. Many menus include ingredients from local partners such as Grand Central Bakery, Olympia Provisions and Moonstruck Chocolate. Food is carefully paired with selections from Maryhill’s vast portfolio, which includes more than 50 unique wines that showcase the diversity of Washington State.
