Panama City Beach Welcomes Flocks Of Snowbirds For Winter Season

Panama City Beach welcomes the annual migration of snowbirds who are flocking to their winter home along the destination’s sugar-white sand beaches. From the Visitor Information Center’s Winter Resident Appreciation Days to the 2nd Annual Winter Resident Senior Prom, complete with a King and Queen, the welcome mat is being rolled out for these seasonal guests. Everyone is encouraged to come enjoy great golf, fishing and non-stop action, combined with exceptional winter season deals and find out why so many happy snowbirds call Panama City Beach their winter home.
“‘REAL.FUN.BEACH.’ describes Panama City Beach 365 days a year,” explains Dan Rowe, president and CEO of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Each winter thousands of visitors descend upon our destination for months at a time, hosting friends and family during their stay, which is what Panama City Beach is all about.”
The Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau will once again offer the Real.Fun.Beach.Club card with discounts to help winter residents get the most out of every day they spend here. The free card can be picked up at the Visitors Information Center for value-added programs, winter travel deals and offerings at participating restaurants, hotels, and other attractions and events.
This year Panama City Beach will host the Second Annual Senior Prom, which is a fun tradition and a chance for winter residents to get out their dancing shoes. It will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Edgewater Bach Resort. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras, and the honorary King and Queen will ride in the Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Pier Park and receive a special prize package.
Guests can also enjoy Winter Resident Appreciation days at the Visitors Information Center. Taking place on Dec. 21, Jan. 11, Jan. 25 and Feb. 15, everyone is encouraged to stop by for complimentary coffee and donuts, and a chance to mingle with friends while learning about the seasonal activities taking place in and around Panama City Beach.
Winter residents can also show their home state pride at Breakers Restaurant, which will host “State Days,” including Wisconsin Day (Feb. 19 and 21), Michigan Day (Feb. 20), and Minnesota Day (Feb. 27). Canadians can get in on the celebrations with Canada Day on Feb.13 at the Wyndham Bay Point Resort.
