Playfulness is a very attractive quality

By Leslee Jaquette
Maybe you should consider letting that creative, fun-loving and a tad absurd “kid” in you out once in awhile?
Research shows that playfulness or the tendency to “define and engage in activities in a non-serious or fanciful manner to increase enjoyment” is not only a very attractive characteristic, it helps people stay curious and open to innovation.playful
A recent study has found that playfulness, which includes a “sense of humor” and a keen sense of fun provides people with a feeling of fulfillment. Game developer and author Bernie  de Koven explains, Playfulness is a central source of meaning in our lives. Most of the things that are interesting, important and human are the result of playfulness.”
Now, that’s an interesting contention.  De Koven says that while playful people are fairly carefree, they are still highly motivated individuals, “Playful people alternate between imagination and a rooted sense of reality.”
So, do you let your playful side come out now and then? Do you like to wonder at creation? Do you like to try new things? Are you passionate about your work and do you like to make things just for the fun of it? If so, then you are probably a playful person – one of those chosen individuals who enjoy life and are irresistible to to most other people!
