Pumpkin farms sprout around Seattle this Halloween

pumpkin-patchWhen my sons were little Halloween was considered more fun than even Christmas. Part of the charm was donning their little rubber boots and heading out to select just the right pumpkin at the local pumpkin patch. Of course, it also meant wandering through a maze of corn, drinking hot chocolate and getting wet and mucky!
These days Seattle are offers more pumpkin patches and farms than ever. Please checkout the Red Tricycle website for a full rundown of pumpking farms in the Seattle area.
For example, here is a summary of the Fox Hollow Farm in Issaquah:
Fox Hollow Farm
During pumpkin season, Fox Hollow has a pumpkin patch filled with pumpkins ready for picking as well as hayrides, farm animals, a hay-bale maze, corn bin, pony rides, train rides, huge inflatables and more. If your kiddos want to plan a return visit, put their annual Halloween Carnival on your radar. On October 31, little ghouls can run and jump around the farm as it transforms into a spooktacular play area. Activities include trick-or-treating, an old-fashioned cake walk and Halloween-themed games in addition to all of the Fall Festival activities mentioned above.
Good to know: Fox Hollow is now offering Fall Festival reserved sessions. The morning session is open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and the afternoon session is open from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. By offering sessions, all guests are guaranteed a spot in the parking lot and the animals will not get over-stressed by huge crowds. Note: You will have the flexibility to come and go as you please during your three-hour session. We recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance.
