Sequim Lavender Farmers sets year-round activities

Sequim, Wash-The Sequim Lavender Farmers Association announced the launch of a year-round events calendar that will enable visitors to enjoy lavender farms, plants, and products in every season.
In addition the  Sequim Lavender Farm Faire, July 19-21, there will be new events during peak bloom time (July-August), a Tour de Lavender cycling event, a winter celebration, and a spring salute..
Week of Lavender – July 13-18
Kingston Trio at the James Center, next to Carrie Blake Park, at 6pm on Saturday, July 13. Tickets may be purchased online BrownPapertickets.com. Friends of Lavender members receive $5 off the ticket price when purchased at the Purple Haze Lavender downtown store.
High Tea at Washington Lavender Farm
High Tea with George Washington at his Mount Vernon replica overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. A three-tiered tea service will be offered at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm on Saturday, July 13. Limit 32 per seating. Reservations recommended. 360-452-5207.
Jardin du Soleil Brunch
Brunch in the fields of newly blooming lavender on Saturday, July 13 at 10 am.  Tickets $15, reservations online.
Sequim Lavender Farm Faire – July 19-21
The annual Sequim Lavender Farm Faire brings together 17 years of lavender farming as part of Sequim Lavender Weekend, July 19-21, 2013. The Faire gathers all things lavender with the Heritage Lavender Farm Tour and the free Lavender Arts & Crafts Faire in the Park at Carrie Blake Park/James Center. Tickets are $10 when purchased prior to close-of-business on Thursday, July 18, or $15 on the weekend.
Tour de Lavender – Saturday & Sunday, August 3-4
A 100k Metric Century ride from Kingston to Sequim on Saturday and to farms in bloom using back roads and the Olympic Discovery Trail. There’s also a family fun ride for all levels through the Sequim Dungeness Valley on Saturday and Sunday and with visits to member farms
Lavender Oil Distillation Celebration – August 31-September 1
The farms will have the “lavender stills” running. Learn about lavender oil and its properties and uses—and bring home some of the products derived from this plant.
Winter Lavender Faire – Saturday, November 30
Winter Lavender Faire at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, featuring holiday décor, gifts, crafts and food and fun for the whole family. Free admission.
