The Cascade Loop Links Washington’s Wilderness and Water

indexThis summer or fall is the perfect time to drive all or just a region or two of the Cascade Loop, Washington’s Ultimate Road Trip.” According to “National Geographic Traveler, the 400-mile loop is “one of America’s grandest, most spectacular drives.”
The Cascade Loop Association breaks the trip up into nine regions:
Snohomish River Valley – From Puget Sound through farm valley to the foothills of the Cascades
Stevens Pass Greenway – Travel over lush Stevens Pass by super charming towns.
Leavenworth/Cascade Foothills – Enjoy the festive Bavarian village, hiking and wineries
Wenatchee/Columbia river Valley – Orchards, vineyards beautify the Columbia’ shores
Lake Chelan Valley – Swim, boat, jetski this elegant glacier-fed lake
Methow Valley – Look for wide-open, high desert spaces with big skies
North Cascades – Dramatic peaks, lakes, rivers, hiking, wild animals
Skagit Valley & Fidalgo Island – spring tulips bring color to this rich agricultural valley
Whidbey Scenic Isle Way – Relax on its saltwater beaches and historic getaways overlooking the Olympics and Cascades
