Two Easy DIY Wreaths for Easter

Your front door is the first thing visitors see as they enter your home. Wreaths are fun and easy to make and you can change them with the season or holiday. Here are two DIY wreaths you can make to decorate your home for spring or Easter with just a few inexpensive items from your local craft store or Dollar Store.

Marshmallow Bunny Wreath
12-inch foam wreath
Wide satin ribbon, approximately 5 yards
2 large packages marshmallow bunnies
Glue gun
For this project you will need two large packages of marshmallow bunnies. You will need approximately 22 bunnies to complete the wreath, and there are 16 bunnies in each package.
The most expensive part of this craft is the styrofoam wreath. Styrofoam is getting so expensive. Use your Joann’s and Michael’s coupons to get styrofoam wreaths on sale.
Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 4 yards long. The Dollar Store has a lot of ribbon in a variety of widths and pretty colors. The ribbon can be any spring color. Wrap the ribbon round the wreath form until the wreath is completely covered. Glue or pin the ribbon in place.
Using the hot glue gun, glue the marshmallow bunnies around the front of the wreath. They should be laying flat, facing you. Just line them up next to each other, so that they circle the entire wreath. Their bodies should be centered on the wreath. Leave an open spot at the top to tie on the remaining yard of ribbon to hang the wreath.
Note: You can also use marshmallow peeps to make this wreath. Just line up the peeps around the wreath as you did the bunnies, with the peeps facing the outside of the wreath. Glue in place.
Plastic Easter Egg Wreath
This fun spring wreath is made from plastic Easter eggs. You will be using cardboard for the base of this wreath.
You will need:
12 inch piece of cardboard (flap of a box works well)
Approximately 48 plastic Easter eggs
Easter grass
Hot glue gun
Ribbon for hanging
This wreath is very inexpensive to make. You can buy plastic Easter eggs at the Dollar Store.
Start by using a pencil to draw a 12 inch circle on the piece of cardboard. A dinner plate works well for this.
Find a plate approximately 10 inches and draw another circle inside the first circle.
Cut out both circles so that you have a 12 inch circle with a 10 inch hole cut out of the middle of it. This will be your wreath base.
You will be able to fit two rows of plastic eggs on the cardboard base. First line up a row of eggs with the tips facing outward. The bases of the eggs should be in the center of the cardboard ring, leaving room for another row in the center. Glue the eggs in place.
Next line up another row of eggs with the tips pointing towards the center of the ring. Again, the bases should be in the center of the cardboard ring and tips will be hanging off the edge of the wreath. Glue the eggs in place.
Now start layering eggs on top of the first layer of eggs, filling in any gaps. You might want to use smaller eggs too to create more variety. Just keep gluing on eggs until you like the look of the wreath.
After you are done gluing on the plastic eggs, go through the wreath and glue eggs together wherever they are loose.
Add Easter grass to any remaining cracks and use a little hot glue to hold in place.
Add a pretty spring colored ribbon to hang the wreath.
These colorful seasonal wreaths are fun to make for spring or Easter. All you need is a few inexpensive supplies and you can have one of these creative wreaths made in less than an hour.
