Walmart opens first Neighborhood Market

VANCOUVER, Wash– Walmart opened its first Neighborhood Market in Vancouver in July.
The new store, approximately one-third the size of a Walmart Supercenter, is located at 7809 NE Vancouver Plaza and is open 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., daily. The new store will provide local customers with a new, convenient option for their grocery shopping needs, including fresh produce and pharmacy services.
The Vancouver Neighborhood Market is one of 24 Walmart stores opening across the country on July 17th.
The Walmart Neighborhood Market format offers quick and convenient shopping, with a full-grocery department, including organic and natural selections. The store features prepared food options, fresh baked breads, a self-serve deli and a bakery. The Vancouver store is also tailored to the community, offering local favorites, including Franz Bread, Dave’s Killer Bread and Reser’s Fine Foods.
The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services. Pharmacy team members can answer product and prescription questions and customers can ask about health and wellness solutions.
In addition to its Every Day Low Prices, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are proud to support the Southwest Washington community through its charitable giving. The company recently granted the Clark County Food Bank more than $115,000 for a refrigerated truck as a part of its Fresh Alliance program.
“With this new refrigerated truck, we will be able to distribute a greater volume of donations to our 20 food bank partners in the area,” says Alan Hamilton, Executive Director of the Clark County Food Bank. “Walmart’s grant will have a direct and immediate effect on Clark County residents in need of nutritious meals.”
Throughout the past five years, the Walmart Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 to Clark County nonprofits through the Washington State Giving Program and community grants. These organizations include the Police Activities League, Americans Building Community, the Children’s Home Society of Washington, Partners in Careers, the Parks Foundation of Clark County and the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington.
