Washingtonians save $1 million by switching their search engine

TopCashback.com announces its members have collectively earned $1 million in cashback rebates in just over a year by clicking through its website to retailers, as opposed to using traditional search engines

With the United States in recovery from one of the worst recessions in history and the ‘fiscal cliff’ threatening to strip $600 billion from the economy[1], more Washington residents than ever are striving to make their dollars go further. Couponing is at an all-time high, with four out of five Americans using printable coupons and online codes[2], millions have flocked to the internet to seek out the best deals[3], and with this have discovered a host of new saving mechanisms.
One of the most popular has emerged as something of a savings phenomenon: earning money from online purchases, known as cashback rebates. While the concept may still be new to some Washingtonians, others have been reaping the benefits since its introduction to the online arena during the late 90’s.
TopCashback, the USA’s most generous cashback rebates site, today announced that its users have collectively reached the $1 million mark in rebates by clicking through to retailers from its website, as opposed to traditional search engines, since its launch just over a year ago. The free rebates site can enable the average Washington resident to save over $1,000 on significant purchases in a year[4] and over $600 on Christmas gifts for the family[5].
Users have also made serious dollars spreading the word about TopCashback; collectively earning $50,000 through tell-a-friend bonuses. With the number of online shoppers in America expected to reach 175 million in 2016, the number of cashback users is expected to skyrocket also; especially as users can combine rebate savings with coupon codes.
Natasha-Rachel Smith, Head of Communications and Public Relations for TopCashback (www.topcashback.com), said: We’re thrilled that our users have collectively earned $1 million worth of rebates – an astonishing accomplishment in just over a year. We see this achievement as a reflection of how Washingtonians are not only becoming more savvy with discounts, but are becoming bargainistas by using money-saving opportunities simultaneously: finding the best price online, applying coupon codes and earning cashback all on the same purchase. Rebates are effectively viewed as the frosting on a metaphorical cake made up of layers of delicious savings.
“In the current economic climate, our dollars have become ever more precious. By taking advantage of all the savings available when making purchases, Washington residents will have more opportunities to enjoy their hard earned money on luxuries like vacations, eating out or the latest gadgets, as well as the necessities in life, or simply have more cash to throw at existing debts.”
Natasha concluded: “In the words of a TopCashback member “I just don’t know anyone who can afford to turn down free money”.
