The Yakima Greenway in Yakima, Washington features a 10-mile paved pathway, parks, fishing lakes, picnic areas, playgrounds and natural areas.
Visitors enjoy the opportunity to take a short—or long—hike along the serene Yakima River.
Sights along the way include Sarg Hubbard Park, which serves as the center of the greenway with a playground and amphitheater. An off-leash dog park and picnic area is available at nearby Sherman Park. Other highlights include the YWCA Human Spirit Nature Trail and the Poppoff Nature Trail.
There are several hotels located near the greenway including the Best Western Plus, which sits near the banks of the Yakima River.
While in Yakima, explore the rich local agricultural heritage represented in the city’s downtown Farmers Market, fine wineries and craft breweries. For a special treat, visit El Parrillon Loco De Tom Y Jerry for mouth watering grilled chicken and friendly service. And be sure to shop at Precision Fruit Stand for an array of antiques, canned goods, fruits and nuts.
