How to start a “Golden Girls” home

How to Start a Golden Girls Home offers guidance on how to make your home attractive to roommates, questions to ask in an interview, how to handle pets, boyfriends, and other tricky situations, as well as hundreds of other tips about sharing homes.
The book draws on the real world experience of author Bonnie Moore—both in her own shared home and as founder of Golden Girls Network, a website that helps adults ages 50 and above find roommates.  Informed by Moore’s law degree, the book includes sample applications, leases, and other practical resources for home owners and potential roommates.
“If you are considering sharing your home with roommates, you simply must read this book,” said Josephine Brown, a Maryland homeowner and Golden Girls Network member. “As someone who has lived with roommates successfully for nearly eight years, Moore is well equipped to guide other women on the ins and outs of sharing a home.”
Demographic trends indicate that conditions are ripe for continued growth of shared living, particularly among women. According to statistics compiled by AARP, one out of three boomers will face old age without a spouse. Women, on average, live about five years longer than men. Adult children are often far away. And since 1990, the overall divorce rate for the 50-plus demographic has doubled.
How to Start a Golden Girls Home is available on Amazon.com for $14.99 (paperback) or $10.99 Kindle formats.
