Life Care Services building senior community in Gig Harbor

Over 125 Heron’s Key Priority Members from the Gig Harbor area gathered at Chapel Hill Church during the summer to get the first glimpse at the floor plans of their future home, as well as an update on future development plans for Harbor Hill.
The development consultant, Life Care Services, presented an update on the project, which will begin taking reservations for priority members in October and open up reservations to the public in spring 2014.  The project architect, Rice Fergus Miller, presented the first phase of construction, including floor plans for the apartment homes and the exterior landscape layout. John Chadwell from Olympic Property Group also gave insight to the continued development plans of the Harbor Hill community, including parks and trail expansion.
“Heron’s Key will be an integral part of the Harbor Hill community. We wanted our Priority Members to not only hear the latest updates on their future residences, but to also learn more about plans for the surrounding community,” said Lisa Hardy, president of Emerald Communities.
Beyond providing housing and medical care for seniors age 62 and older, Heron’s Key will feature walkable green space and a host of additional services and amenities, such as restaurant-style dining, a fitness center, wellness programs, and social, cultural and educational opportunities.  The community will be connected to the city park system and within walking distance of the Gig Harbor YMCA, as well as the growing Harbor Hill retail center which includes Costco and Target.
