Whidbey Island Garden Tours offer ideas, gifts, goodies

Mother’s Day is coming and spring has sprung! It is the perfect time to saddle up for a Whidbey Island Garden Tour.
Start at either end of Washington’s Whidbey Island and access visitor information to get all the info you need for a great driving trip.
Look for great stops and garden tours at some of these hotspots:Hanson-Merkerk-8

  • Meerkerk Gardens – Checkout Whidbey islands’s 43-acre preserve and display gardens open year around from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is known for its spring season with thousands of rhododentdrons in bloom, 100K spring bulbs and flowering trees. It is located south of Greenbank from Hwy 525, take resort Road to 3531 Meerkerk Lane.
  • Lavendar Wind Farm – Visit the farm with its lavender labyrinth, pond and gazebo and Town shop in a restored 1916 bungalow. Enjoy baked good and or a glass of wine and enjoy the scent of lavender everywhere.
  • Hummingbird Farm Nursery and Gardens – Known as the “Gardening and gift shop gem of Whidbey Island, the farm is famous for its variety of plants and rare perennials. The Farm offers a free forum, “Gathering for Gardening/Gardeners Exchange” last Sundays 1-3 p.m. through Sept. Checkout the amazing gift shop, too.
