Picture this: Man buys an inn, moves from big city, meets girl in Mendocino, lures girl away from lucrative career in big city, they marry and have a daughter, build the reputation of an inn, and then launch a wine label.
It’s been a busy five years for Guy and Sarah Pacurar, owners of the award-winning Brewery Gulch Inn on the majestic Mendocino Coast. The pair fell in love in Mendocino, and now they want to help their guests do the same.
“My second chapter began eight years ago, when I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an innkeeper,” states Guy. “Although I bought Brewery Gulch Inn in 2007, and I loved living in Mendocino, there was something still missing. It was Sarah! We met, fell in love, and have become partners in all things, including the raising of our 3-year old daughter, Ella; the management of the inn; and most recently, the establishment of a small, family-run wine label. Together with Sarah’s father, our daughter, Ella, and my daughter, Taylor, we’ve launched our labor of love, Fathers & Daughters Cellars.
Guests can begin by exploring and eating their way up the ruggedly beautiful Mendocino Coast, and then spend their second day dining and wine tasting in the county’s uncrowded and charming Anderson Valley.
Guests will spend both nights at the majestic yet cozy Brewery Gulch Inn, where they’ll be pampered by an executive chef (who cooks just for them), sip on local wines (Fathers & Daughters among them), snuggle up together in front of their own fireplace, (and if the Ultimate Romantic Escape is chosen), enjoy an in-room couples massage and a picnic on the beach.
Guy and Sarah can’t promise that following in their footsteps will guarantee similar success in love, but as any visitor will tell you—it’s hard to deny the romance of the Mendocino Coast.
