Campaign captures surreal marine life scenes

The Oregon Coast Aquarium kicked off its new campaign, Closer Than You Think, last week to capture the attention of Oregon residents and visitors with surreal scenes of marine life in domestic settings.

Closer Than You Think ArtThe very idea of exploring marine environments from dry land was unattainable just a few short decades ago. Closer Thank You Think calls attention to how closely visitors can connect with the marine animals that live in the little-explored, watery dimension of our planet. The tagline also gives a nod to the geographic proximity of the nationally-acclaimed aquarium to Oregonians.
Artwork covering billboards, posters, print and digital ads across Oregon will feature extraordinary scenes created by Portland-based photographer Holly Andres in partnership with advertising agency MANIFESTO.
A highlight of the campaign, the Summer Sweepstakes, will award one person each week a behind the scenes adventure at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Each winner, and their three guests, will enjoy overnight accommodations at the Newport La Quinta Inn & Suites, admission to the Aquarium, a behind the scenes tour and their choice of a Sea Lion Kiss or Octopus Encounter.
