Nominate a Real Hero

Nominations are now being accepted for recognition at the 2014 Real Heroes Breakfast

The annual Heroes Breakfast began in 1998 to recognize those whose actions resulted in saving the lives of others. In addition, it serves as the signature fundraising event for Southwest Washington American Red Cross. The Heroes Breakfast grew out of the desire to develop an event that closely aligns to the Red Cross mission: saving lives through prevention, preparedness, and response. The program honors ordinary people who have performed extraordinary heroic actions within the community in Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, Klickitat, Pacific and Wahkiakum counties.

Throughout the year, nominations are accepted for recognition of individuals who have performed a single act of heroism.  Nominees for the award must have saved a life; live or work in Clark, Cowlitz, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Skamania or Klickitat County or the heroic event must have taken place in one of those counties.  A panel will review the nominations and select Heroes for each our seven categories.

The Red Cross presents the awards at the Real Heroes Breakfast on a Friday morning in March each year at the Vancouver Hilton Hotel.
