COMMENTS: Salem Concert Band, conducted by John Skelton, will present “Western Portraits”, on May 18th at 3 PM in Hudson Hall at Willamette University, Rogers Music Center. The Oregon Brass Quintet, in residence at the University of Oregon, will join the band as guest artists. The featured piece on the program is “Shadowcatcher” by Eric Ewazen. The four movements of this piece are based on photographs by Edward S. Curtis and a selection of the photos will be projected during the performance.The second half of the program will feature cowboys and settlers and feature Oregon Trail photos.
Tickets are $15.00 general admission $20.00 reserved premium seating,and $5.00 student general admission. They are available at the Historic Elsinore Theatre box office, TicketsWest outlets, the Salem Concert Band website, www.salemconcertband.org, and at the door.
