The Olympic Culinary Loop features a group of people who grow, harvest, catch and ultimately serve the Peninsula’s bounty called Olympic Coast Cuisine.  Experiencing all that’s local is an adventure, and for many, a first time experience.

Hama Hama Oyster Farm has announced its Open Farm Day and is scheduled for Saturday, May 17.  Bring the family and try a hand at oyster and clam foraging.  Staff will help identify clam shows, guide participants to oyster picking locations, and even help carry the bounty back to the store.  Foragers need to bring the standard shellfish gathering equipment and shellfish permits are not required.  Reservations are required and can be made by either emailing [email protected] or calling (888) 877-5844.  For more information visit www.hamahamaoysters.com.
Enjoy farm-to-table freshness at the Taste of Port Townsend on Thursday, June 12.  Twelve restaurants around the town have served everything from crab cakes with lemongrass aioli, to homemade cookies and delectable deli sandwiches.  Each restaurant will feature one “Taste” item.  Tickets are $25-$30 and can be purchased online or at various locations around Port Townsend.  Check www.ptmainstreet.org for the latest event information and an upcoming menu.
