My Lost Cuba

So often, we take where we live – where we come from – for granted. Our lives feel comfortable and secure, and for most, the idea of having to leave our home, all of our belongings, and everything we have worked so hard for is inconceivable; but many have been forced to do it before.
In Cuba during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, families fled as political exiles from everything they knew, finding themselves starting over from scratch in America. Many people believe they know what Cuba was like before Castro, and what it’s like after Castro, but nobody can truly know unless they lived it.
Celso Gonzalez-Falla transports us there in his stunning new novel, My Lost Cuba (releasing September 2013), which documents the life of a wealthy family who lives in La Habana in 1958, a turning point in the country: the last year of Fulgencio Batista’s dictatorship in Cuba. Enriched by a cast of colorful characters and based on the fascinating events of his life, author Gonzalez-Falla not only explores the everyday life of a family in La Habana, but also pulls us in further with a look at the political, social, and historical aspects of this fascinating time and place.
My Lost Cuba will be available for purchase at www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com, and through all major booksellers upon request as of September 2013.
